How your container is delivered

Containers are delivered by specialist haulage providers, using one of two methods depending on the vehicle, your container and your site. Our team will confirm which applies when your delivery is arranged.

Crane / Hiab Offload

The vehicle lifts the container off using its own on-board crane and lowers it into position. This needs enough overhead clearance and side space for the crane arm to operate safely, in addition to space for the truck itself.

Chassis / Tilt-Bed Slide-Off

The truck bed tilts and the container slides off onto the ground. This needs a longer, straight, level run-off path behind the vehicle rather than overhead clearance.

Site access checklist

Before your delivery date, please check that:

The delivery route can safely accommodate a heavy commercial vehicle
The entrance and access route are sufficiently wide for the delivery truck
There's enough space for the vehicle to enter, manoeuvre and safely unload
The unloading area has solid, stable, level ground
There's sufficient clearance from buildings, walls, gates, trees and other structures
There are no low-hanging cables, branches or other overhead obstructions
Other vehicles, equipment or obstructions are cleared from the access and unloading area

If you're at all unsure whether your site is suitable, contact us before ordering — we'd rather check in advance than arrive at a site that isn't ready.

Your delivery cost and estimated transit time are calculated automatically from your delivery state at checkout. Order processing (before dispatch) normally takes 1–3 business days. Full terms are set out in our Shipping Policy.

If your site isn't ready on the day

Drivers won't attempt an unsafe or inaccessible delivery. If a delivery can't be completed because of site access or ground conditions, it will be rearranged for a later date and a fixed $150 redelivery fee applies for the second attempt. Checking the access list above before your delivery date is the easiest way to avoid this.
